Hemorrhoids are a very serious ailment that affects a wide range of individuals. There are various types of hemorrhoids and the basic definition of hemorrhoids is not well known.

Hemorrhoids are actually found in all people and form a part of the anatomy. It also has a function in the body. The haemorrhoid is basically a lump of soft tissues and nerve endings. There is also bleeding regularly as the veins will rupture due to the stress during passing stools. They also tear and the bleeding has to be stopped with medical intervention.

The internal haemorrhoids are rare but they are equally uncomfortable. They are internal in their occurrence and they usually come out of the anus. They also bleed and cause irritable bowels. They come out of the anus when there is a lot of pressure applied.

The question that comes to ones mind is do the hemorrhoids leave a lump after they have become inactive. The answer is both yes and no. the reason is that once a hemorrhoids egresses there is a chance that the nerves in the hemorrhoids become hard and they form a lump at the primary site. The lump is harmless and can be removed through surgery though surgery is not advisable when treating the haemorrhoid. The reason for this is that they are made up of nerve endings which have blood supply. If there is damage to the nerves then there can be profuse bleeding which is difficult to control.

There are various theories that say that these hemorrhoids can be removed and they will not leave a lump in its place, but the truth of the matter is that these hemorrhoids are specific from person to person and they may or may not cause a lump. The treatments for hemorrhoids are varied and they are specific to the patient.

Most of the treatments reduce the size of the haemorrhoid thus making it less painful and also decrease the blood flow. There are natural treatments that suggest a multi pronged approach. There is the need to control the diet and include fibrous food so that the passage of stools is smooth and the haemorrhoid is not affected. Then there are various herbs that help in healing the wound that the haemorrhoids cause.
